Our Mission

Trans. Proud is an open group offered to everyone in the community who wishes to become educated about transgender issues. We are advocating, educating, supporting, counseling, coaching, and bringing awareness of the transgender community one step at a time.
                                                                                          We are Proud.... Trans. Proud!

History

Trans. Proud was founded by a transgender female to male named Vegas Devon Rylie. It stemmed from a social internet connection called face book and quickly went viral. Chris Waters from the Binghamton Pride Coalition along with Noah Cooper from M4 Suggested to Vegas that there was a need for a new Transgender based group in the Binghamton NY area. Trans. Proud now serves the transgender community worldwide via the internet and holds meetings and runs activities in the Binghamton NY area. Thank you M4, The Binghamton Coalition, Noah Cooper, Chris Waters, and everyone who has shown us support.

Services Offered

We are a transgender based peer advocate system who is set out to support other transgenders, their spouses/partners, families, friends, businesses & community. Age is of no importance, be that you are 10 years old or 508! We are here to help! We offer counseling, advocate for those who need someone to speak on their behalf, bring awareness about transgenders & being transgender. We support transgenders by helping & encouraging them to express their views & concerns, access information & services that they may need, write letters on their behalves, encourage others to speak for themselves in areas were they normally wouldn't be able to, or just be "that ear" to listen. We have brochures to help educate others about trans issues and what it means to be transgender. We counsel families, partners and individuals faced with being transgender and those who have a transgender person in their lives. We offer life skills coaching, and counseling, (family and personal), we educate the communities transgender people live in and on a more political level we write petitions for transgender rights. We offer also a clothing bank for transgender people to have the ability to gain clothes to help them be able to identify as the gender they need to. Added to the services we offer we have a monthly "Out and about" event where we team up with the Binghamton Pride coalition and go have fun in the community. We run many fun events and discussions. We currently are seeking for people to attend some group meetings and help educate themselves and others about trans. issues.
